How long does it take for bad credit to come off your report after you are discharged from a chapter 7?Open credit accounts in good standing remain indefinitely. Any inquiries will remain on your credit report for 2 years. Negative marks have to be removed in 7 years unless there is a bankruptcy. In this case, it will stay for 10 years even if dismissed or discharged. If a person does Chapter 13 then it would only be 7 years.
