Correcting Changed Dates on Credit ReportIn some case, debt collectors or collection agencies may receive wrong information and may change a date on a credit report. If this accidentally occurs, then maybe a person would be well off to dispute the item with their credit reporting company. With a more recent date on your credit report, it will reflect very negatively on your credit report as it will appear as more recent. So as mentioned earlier, you should always be sure items are correct on your credit report because mistakes DO happen. Just send out a dispute letter with a photo copy of the disputed item(s) along with proof on the actual date(s) and the credit reporting companies will do their own investigation on the wrong information provided and will help remedy any potential errors on your credit report.
