Length of Time Items May Stay on YOUR Credit ReportAccording to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, most items will remain on your credit report for at least 7 years. Some bankruptcy information may stay on your credit report for at least 10 years. If there is ever a court ordered judgment or unpaid balances from a lawsuit against you then it may remain reported on your credit report for at least 7 year or the length of the statute of limitations. Usually it is the longer period of the two that affects you credit report. |
