Writing a Credit Report Dispute LetterIn order to dispute an item on your credit report you will need to contact the credit reporting agency where you have found the credit dispute item and will need to send them a letter containing your identifying information such as name and address to the credit reporting company’s complaint department for disputing credit report errors. When disputing an error on a credit report, with the letter you should have a photocopy of the disputed item on the credit report and an explanation as to why you are disputing the item on your credit report. Once you have all of the information regarding the dispute on your credit report, you can send it out and the credit reporting company will get to investigating in within 30 days. |
